Larger than many of Nigel Ashcroft's works, Ginger Jars achieves a fascinating monumental effect created by the angle the group is viewed at, and the expanse of tablecloth almost appearing to be carved out of white marble. The beautifully decorated jars depicting scenes from Chinese legend are dramatically set against a simple lemon. The whole is bathed in light to create a stunning contemporary watercolour still life.
