Peter Graham ROI
Peter Graham was born in 1959 and trained at the Glasgow School of Art. He worked for several years as a film editor with the BBC before turning to a full time painting career in 1986. A year spent in Singapore as British Council Artist in Residence at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts was followed by a series of prominent solo and group exhibitions in London, Scotland and New York.
From 1994 to 1996, Peter Graham acted as Advisor for the Visual Arts to the Scottish Arts Council and in 1999 he won the Winsor and Newton Non Member Award at the Royal Institute of Oil Painters. In 2000, Peter Graham became a Full Member of the ROI and was subsequently elected a Member of the ROI Council, becoming Vice President from 2004 to 2005.
Peter Graham has exhibited at the Royal Institute of Oil Painters, the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours, the Royal Society of Marine Artists, the Royal Scottish Academy and numerous other galleries in New York and Bermuda, as well as in London and the provinces. Peter's work can be found in collections worldwide, including Lady Graham, Edinburgh, :Lady Nairn, Lord Morton of Shuna, Lord Max Rayne, Robbie Coltrane, Kaye Adams, Gaby Roslyn, Peter Barkworth, The Wellhouse Trust, The British Council, Ernst & Young, North London Hospice and Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, Singapore. He has also produced a book entitled “An introduction of Painting Still Life”, published by David & Charles 2002 and Apple Press 2004, and he has also written articles for a number of other publications.
