‘I love to paint in oil or pastel and my subject matter varies from the coasts of Cornwall and Yorkshire to the network of canals near where I live in Staffordshire.
What inspires me most is light and how it can transform the ordinary into something spectacular in a split second. I often work outdoors with my Pochade box, usually on a 8”x10” panel, as there is a painting window of only about 90 minutes before the light changes completely. The painting can then be developed further into a larger version in the studio.
I have exhibited with the Royal Society of British Artists, The Royal Institute of Oil Painters, Royal Society of Marine Artists and The Royal Birmingham Society of Artists'.
