HURST BALMFORD

(Born 1871)

A painter of portraits and landscapes in oils and watercolours, Balmford was born in Huddersfield on 8th June 1871 and studied at the RCA and in Paris at the Académie Julian.  He exhibited at the RA, RSA and in the provinces.  He was Headmaster of Morecombe School of Art.  He lived in Blackpool an at St Ives in Cornwall.
