Incorporating recycled materials Sarah creates a foundation of layered fragments of paper, card, scrim, gesso, wire and sacking on a board.  Pigment is applied, then wiped, scraped or sanded away with cloths to expose the most interesting lines and markings.

Sarah’s love of textures, old buildings and history leads her to portray run-down harbour scenes with secret alley ways, old steps and smuggler’s haunts as well as being drawn towards capturing dark and moody landscapes with isolated cottages or delapidated mills on the hillside.
