John Noott Galleries

A Bristol painter and watercolourist, James Hardy Jnr painted a variety of subjects, including landscapes with rustic figures, hunting scenes and still life, but is perhaps best known for his pictures of dogs with game. He exhibited at the Royal Academy between 1862 and 1886, and also at the British Institution , Suffolk Street Galleries and the New Watercolour society (member 1877) Sales of James Hardy's work were held at Christie’s in March 1878 and after his death on 4th April 1889.
