A French painter of genre, portraits, landscapes and interiors, and also an engraver and designer, Lothar von Seebach was born in Fessenbach in 1853. He was a pupil of Ferdinand Keller and settled in Strasbourg in 1875. He travelled widely in Italy, and died in 1913 in Strasbourg. The work of von Seebach is represented in the Museums of Berlin, Carlsruhe and Strasbourg.
