A painter in watercolour and oil, born in Bournemouth, Hampshire. He attended the Art School there, then Camberwell School of Arts and Crafts, teachers including Martin Bloch, leaving in 1956. Flowers and landscape were Weldon’s main subjects. He always painted indoors from drawings taken on the spot, but his rich colours and lively brushwork well evoke the landscape of Dorset and Somerset where Weldon lived and eventually died. He showed at mixed exhibitions at Frances Kyle Gallery and had a series of solo shows at Bath and Wells and was exhibiting at the Alpha House Gallery at the time of his death. He had been divorced from his wife Fay Weldon shortly before this. Paisnel Gallery held at exhibition in 1998.
