Henry Carr was a British landscape and portrait painter who served as a war artist in the Second World War.
Carr trained at Leeds College of Art and the Royal College of Art under William Rothenstein. He was commissioned by the Artist's Advisory Committee to paint bombed areas in London, and later travelled on a British merchant navy ship, North Africa and Italy as a War Office Artist.
Post-war Carr was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Portrait Painters, and taught at Beckenham Art School for seventeen years. He was elected an Associate Member of the Royal Academy in 1957 and a full member in 1966 and continued to exhibit there until his death.
