Michael Grevatte completed a Diploma Course in Art and Design, Fine Art (sculpture) at Leicester Polytechnic in 1972. Since then he has worked as a sculptor, doing commissions and exhibiting his work in London and elsewhere. His work is held in a large range of collections, both private and public.

Michael Grevatte's public commissions include a large stone sculpture for Center Parcs, Sherwood Forest, Nottinghamshire; two large Portland stone carvings, commissioned by Leicestershire County Council,  to commemorate Mountsorrel Castle (these carvings won the Design Award); and a 7ft high bronze sculpture of a steelworker, commissioned by Corby District Council to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the District Council and the Iron and Steel Works.
