Aneurin Jones was born into a farming family in 1930 on the Brecon/Carmarthenshire border. He studied fine art at Swansea College of Art before taking up a teaching position at Ysgol y Preseli, Crymych, where he became head of art until 1986. Amongst his many achievements, Aneurin received a Rotary Award for outstanding service to Art in 1978, exhibited regularly at the National Eisteddfod of Wales, and has been included in many publications about Welsh artists. He is most widely known for his scenes depicting Welsh farming life and rural scenes that have become so synonymous with Wales.  Aneurin passed away in 2017, aged 87.
