Esther Tyson was born in 1973 in Barrow in Furness, Cumbria and is a British artist and printmaker. Esther began her studies at Cumbria College of Art, moving on to the University of Wales and eventually gaining a place at the Royal College of Art, London. Whilst at the Royal College, Esther won a scholarship to study large carnivores in Slovakia.

After graduating in 2003, Esther Tyson developed her interest and understanding of many bird species whilst living and working in various parts of the world ranging from the wilds of South Wales to the Seychelles and Cambodia.

Esther has been involved in projects within the United Kingdom and worldwide, working alongside organisations such Birdlife International, Free the Bears, Salford Council, Royal parks (London) and the Natural History Museum.

Esther Tyson currently lives and works in the south Peak District where she combines a studio and observational outdoor practice.
