Jane Lampard is a landscape artist based in Gloucestershire – working in oils and pastels, she uses subtle tones of colour to build up depth and atmosphere in her work. Employing an instinctively sensitive approach, Jane Lampard works directly from life whenever possible, and draws inspiration from the fleeting effects of the changing seasons, the weather and the light.
She says of her work: “ There is so much that I want to record in the beauty of our landscape. I am particularly interested in the small farms which surround my home in south Gloucestershire perhaps because I feel their traditional way of life is threatened”.
Jane also travels to Cornwall to paint, as well trips abroad to the south of France, Tuscany and Venice.
Jane Lampard has exhibited paintings at the Pastel Society, the Society of Women Artists, and the Royal West of England Academy, as well as several leading provincial galleries. She is a member of the Dobunni Painters, a group of professional artists who paint in the Cotswolds.
In June 2010 Jane was the winner of the John Singer Sargent Award at the inaugural Broadway Arts Festival.
