Bob Crooks was born in 1965 in London. He studied at the Humberside College of HE and the West Surrey College of Art and Design, from where he graduated in 1989 with a BA (Hons). During his degree course he took a year out as assistant to Ronnie Wilkinson, former Master Glassmaker of Whitefriars glassworks, at the Glasshouse, Covent Garden, London. After graduating he became workshop manager at Glassworks (London) Ltd, before setting up his own company in 1990.
 
Bob Crooks is recognised as one of Britain’s leading glassmakers. Renowned for the high quality, skilfully executed dynamic forms and surfaces he has been producing over the years, he is continuously thinking of original and challenging ideas. Each individual piece is designed, handmade and finished by Bob himself and no moulds are used.
 
Bob Crooks' glass has been exhibited internationally as well as in the UK. He has won numerous awards and commissions and his work is held in a number of public and commercial collections, including the Victoria and Albert Museum, the Crafts Council Collection, London and the Sainsbury Collection, London.
