Born in Suffolk in 1944, British landscape painter Bob Rudd studied at the Bath Academy of Art between 1969 and 1974, becoming a member of the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours in 1995. He has exhibited extensively at galleries throughout the UK, with solo exhibitions in London, Edinburgh and the Isles of Scilly, collecting prestigious awards along the way.
Recent awards include the Debra Manifold Memorial Award (2007) and the Ranelagh Press Award (2008), both at the RI Annual Exhibition. His work is displayed in public and corporate collections here and abroad including 15 paintings in The Permanent Collection of the House of Commons and one in the House of Lords.
Bob works in the traditional media of pure watercolour and oils, and enjoys painting strong images of the less cultivated landscapes and grand buildings of Britain from the north of Scotland to the tip of Cornwall. He also paints the Wiltshire countryside where he lives. |
