Michael Norman lives and works in Devon.  Michael painted for many years in oils and watercolours before taking up pastels, and was a member of the Birmingham Watercolour Society before moving to Devon.

 

Having experimented with pastels for some time, he began to appreciate how versatile they are and he now works soley in this medium.

 

Most of his work is purely pastel, but he does occasionally combine pastels with watercolour or acrylic paint.

 

In recent years, Michael Norman has built up a reputation as a talented pastel painter and was elected to membership of the Pastel Society UK in 2007, winning the Bill Patterson Memorial Award in 2008.
