A painter in the Colourist tradition Jacqui Williams was especially successful in her depictions of interiors. She was born in Lincoln and studied at Gloucester College of Art, 1982-5, then Royal Academy Schools, where she was an outstanding student, 1985-8. She gained the Antique Collector’s Prize, 1987; de Seganzac Travel Scholarship, 1988; and the Elizabeth Greenshields Award in 1988 and 1992. She took part in many mixed showed, including London South Bank Picture Show, 1986; Robinson College, Cambridge, 1987; ROI Windsor & Newton finalist, 1987; Ken Howard’s Choice at Arts Club, 1991; NEAC, 1992. She had the first of a series of solo exhibitions at New Grafton Gallery, after graduation, 1989, a sell-out. Cheltenham & Gloucester Building Society and CASW hold her work.
