The following work by Alfred Wheeler has been previously exhibited by John Noott Galleries and is now in private collections world wide.
The second son of the artist John Alfred Wheeler, he studied under his father and worked fairly closely with him. He married in 1874 and the couple moved into the house next door to his father at Raglan Villas, Bath. Alfred Wheeler painted many of the same racehorses as his father, and received commissions from the Prince of Wales and Baron Rothschild. There is much confusion between the work of John Alfred Wheeler and Alfred Wheeler because their style was very similar and they both frequently signed their work in the same way.
