James West has been a professional wood turner since 1984, initially having taken it up as a hobby on his retirement. He received some excellent training and discovered he had a natural flair for breathing new life into a piece of dead wood, bringing out the natural beauty once more.
He uses native English woods and sustainable exotics, specialising mainly in fruit and bowls that are just a little bit different. Working from his workshop in Nottinghamshire, James West supplies galleries and craft shops around the country and undertakes commissions, some of which have travelled the world. |
