The painter Jackie Philip was born in Edinburgh in 1961. Between 1978 and 1986 she studied at Gray’s School of Art, Aberdeen; Wimbledon School of Art, London; and the Royal Academy Schools, London, achieving a first class BA (Hons) and MA.  She has won a number of scholarships and awards, including: Italian Government Scholarship; Andre de Sezonzac Scholarship; British Institute Award; Mary Armour Award; RSA Hospitalfield Award/Residency; Russell Trust Award VAS; John Cunningham Prize, RGI.

Jackie Philip has held solo shows in Hong Kong, Barbados and Australasia. Her work is held in a number of corporate and private collections in these places as well as in the USA and Europe.
