IAN PARKER

 

Born in 1955 in County Durham, the son of a coal miner/artist, Ian Parker attended school in Yorkshire before studying art at Shoreditch College, London, graduating in 1978.

 

Since then Ian Parker has been living and working as a professional painter in the Lake District with his wife and three children.

 

Ian has exhibited at the Royal Academy of Arts Summer Exhibition  1983-2003, and at the New English Art Club in 2002, 2003 and 2004. More recently, Ian has exhibited at the Royal Academy summer exihibitions in 2007, '08 and '09.  His tiny painting 'Amalfi Lemon' was singled out by Telegraph critic Mark Monohan as his favourite work in the whole show, calling it "a near perfect still life".
 

Ian Parker’s works are included in the collections of Kensington Palace (commission for H.R.H. Prince & Princess of Wales, 1984), Lord Young of Graffham, David Kossoff, Lohnro Textiles, Courtauld Textiles, Nassau Community College, U.S.A., Eddie Shah, Tate & Lyle plc, 1986 ‘Options’ magazine print offer and many private collections around the world.
