One of today’s most exciting young British landscape painters, Myles Oxenford was born in Plymouth and paints full time from his Falmouth studio, where he has remained since graduating from Falmouth College of Art in 2000. His work has been exhibited widely throughout Cornwall and also in London. Known originally for his West Country landscapes, more recently Myles has been inspired by his travels to other parts of Britain and to Africa.

Myles Oxenford says of his work, “In my paintings I want to convey the feeling of sitting in and becoming part of the landscape. Primarily I paint outside to capture the light and movement that make the landscape alive to me. By exploring colour and brush marks I am constantly experimenting with different ways of balancing a desire to represent and abstract the landscape.”
