Suzie Marsh studied at Brighton and Exeter Colleges of Art and obtained her degree in ceramic sculpture in 1982. After several years as a designer for Devon-based companies - during which she gained an insight into the techniques of industrial production - she established her own workshop in 1986. Since then she has become well known for her figurative animal sculpture. Pieces are made in ceramic or cold cast bronze resin and all are suitable for use in the home or garden.
Suzie Marsh’s work reflects her fascination with animal character and form. Through constant observation of her own animals, she has become an acknowledged leader in the portrayal of the domestic cat. She has expanded her range to include many other animals and she is now well known for her sculptures of African wildlife.
Other subjects regularly covered by Suzie Marsh are sheep, hares, ducks, birds and bears. She has undertaken many private and business commissions, ranging from portraits of particular pets to a large water dragon for a privately owned lake.
Earlier this year Suzie Marsh was selected to become a menber of The Royal Bristish Sociery of Sculptors.
