Maurice Levis was a French painter of genre subjects, and was born in Paris in 1860.
He was a pupil of de Harpignies, Jules Lefebvre and of P. Billet.
From 1888 onwards, Maurice Levis exhibited at the Societe des Artistes Francais, gaining a mention honourable in 1895, winning a bronze medal in 1896 and gold in 1927.
