William Brassey Hole,
although born in Salisbury in 1846, is an artist of the Scottish school, who was a painter and etcher of landscape, genre and industrial subjects.
He exhibited in London from 1853 onwards, including several paintings at the Royal Academy.
W B Hole was elected to membership of the Royal Scottish Academy, Royal Scottish Watercolour Society, and to the Royal Society of Painters & Etchers.
He died in Edinburgh in 1917.
