Robert Henfrey was born in 1950 in Buckinghamshire. He trained at Mid Essex Technical College and School of Art   and continued his studies, studying History of Art with the The Open University, whilst working in Town and Country Planning. Robert Henfrey graduated as a Bachelor of Arts in 1988 and  shortly afterwards he gained a position with Cumbria LEA as an Art Tutor.  Robert left this position to become the Arts Event Leader with Lake District National Park Authority. He then went on to become a painting holiday leader and Director of Painting for Lakeland Limited.   Robert now works as a painting leader with HF Holidays Ltd.

 

Robert Henfrey works extensively to commission, his clients including notable commercial customers such as the Lake District National Park Authority and Brantwood Trust. He has worked as a book/publications illustrator, including cards and prints, with TV and in an educational role with public bodies and schools. Robert works principally outdoors,  in watercolour and oils and enjoys painting a wide range of subject matter including urban and rural landscape through to portraiture.  Robert has an extensive sketchbook collection.

 

Robert Henfrey has exhibited with RI, ROI, Sunday Times/Kaupthing-Singer-Friedlander Watercolour Competition and Lake Artists’ Society.
