British ceramic sculptor and painter Trevor Craggs worked as a graphic designer for sixteen years after graduating from art school in the late 1970s. Feeling the need to escape the tight restraint of illustration, Trevor resigned from his job to enrol on a BA in fine art, and has never looked back. His passion for the human figure started a journey into sculpture specialising in Japanese Raku fired torsos.
Trevor’s tight graphic illustration has gradually loosened towards freely expressive abstract painting. Drawn from memories of atmospheric encounters he explores landscape in oil paint. This bold loose style
invites the viewer to engage with each painting on a personal level, bringing their own narrative to the work.
