| A painter of genre and domestic scenes, Claude Cardon exhibited on several occasions at the Royal Academy and at Suffolk Street. Despite his French sounding name, he was in fact English and a member of the Clarke family of artists. However, he changed his name to ClaudeCardon in order to disassociate himself from the Clarke family and is generally considered to be a superior artist to other members of the family. | |||||
