Ron Bone, 1950 - 2011, was born in County Durham and studied at the Bath
Academy of Art between 1968 and 1972, graduating with a BA (Honours) degree. He then went on to study at the Royal College of Art, London in
1973, leaving in 1976 with his Master of Arts degree.
Ron Bone taught for some years before becoming involved with film and television. However, he turned to painting on a full-time basis some years ago and has held one-man shows in Broadway and London with considerable success.
Group shows include the Royal Academy and the Royal West of England Academy. The paintings of Ron Bone can now be found in private collections worldwide.
In his paintings Ron takes a look back over his shoulder at a slower and quieter world of past years, recreating an exquisitely detailed view of life where 'houses have settled into the landscape and possessions are handed down from generation to generation'.
A Retrospective of Ron Bone's work was held at John Noott Galleries in April 2014.
