Tony Allain was born and raised in the Channel Islands and has been painting for over thirty years. The unique light and landscape of Guernsey has many similarities with the location of his home and studio, which was, for many years, in the deep of the West Cornwall countryside.

 

Subjects are varied, ranging from marine and landscapes, town and street scenes through to still life. Tony Allain, who paints in oils, pastels and watercolours, taught art in Guernsey from 1987 until 1992 and his works can be found in many leading contemporary galleries and private collections both here and abroad. He has a painting on permanent display at the Maritime Museum, Castle Cornet in Guernsey.

 

Tony Allain recently took an extended holiday in New Zealand - fell in love with the country - and now lives and works there.  We look forward to having some paintings of his new home in due course.
