Tony Allain has been painting for over forty years.
He is a painter of light and movement, with a complete understanding of his surroundings. Born and raised in the Channel Islands, Tony moved to paint and live with the “Painters of Light” in St Ives, Cornwall, has spent several years in tNew Zealand but has now returned to Cornwall.
Tony Allain has exhibited extensively over the years, and his work can be found in many leading New Zealand, London and provincial galleries as well as private and corporate collections, including the Maritime Museum Guernsey.
In 2004 Tony Allain received a commission for twelve paintings for the state rooms on board the Queen Mary II, the new flag ship for the Cunard Line. Tony Allain has exhibited with the Royal Society of Marine Artists in London. His work is regularly featured in publications such as The Artist and Leisure Painter, Practique des Arts and The Pastel Journal.
In 2012 Tony Allain was elected to the status of Distinguished Member of the Pastel Artists of New Zealand (D.P.A.N.Z.) and also to the status of Signature Member of the Pastel Society of America (P.S.A.) He was most recently elected to full member of the Pastel Society (UK).
