‘Art chose me from an early age, for I had a passion for drawing and painting as a young child, and I’ve had tunnel vision ever since’ writes Marcelle. ‘I work mainly in oils sometimes over egg tempera. My inspiration is the people, places and gardens in my life; simple activities, gardening, taking tea, which are oases of sanity in a seemingly frenetic world.’

Born in 1954, Marcelle Milo-Gray studied at the University of Essex and Exeter College of Art & Design, under the printmaker Marek Laczynski. She then taught art for many years, in Devon, Surrey, St Helier in the Channel Islands and Bath, and now works full-time in her studio in Devon.

Hard work and success has enabled Marcelle to exhibit with the Royal Portrait Society, New English Art Club, the Royal Academy and the Royal West of England Academy, together with many galleries in the south west of England, and here in Broadway.
